Maldives: A Beach Wonder

The hype to go Maldives is great. From the Internet, you can see all the gorgeous pictures which people took when they were there. Mouth-watering.

FINALLY, it was my turn to go. 10D9N. The cost of air ticket was affordable at about SGC250 per pax. In terms of accommodation, the price range was huge as it really depended on which type of accommodation you picked. We stayed at Bandos resort (Very near to airport) for the first few days, inclusive of water villa. For the last few days, we decided to move to Male city for a change.

We missed the opportunity to fly on seaplane in Maldives.

Let the adventure began!

I picked a window seat on the plane purposely. Upon reaching Maldives, I looked out of the window. Shocking sight. It was beautiful. Jaw dropping. I really cannot get enough of the sight. You could see that Maldives is made up of small tiny islands and each island has their own unique characteristic. My excitement shot up immediately. As soon as we touched down, we had to find our way to Bandos resort. Since it was located pretty near to the airport, the ferry would be able to take us there.

A little background on Bandos resort. It is a great island for snorkelling as it was famous for its corals around the island. Other than this, they also have a lot of reef sharks swimming around the island.

We chose to have only Bed and Breakfast. This is because usually for breakfast, they will have a wide buffet spread and we will be too full to have lunch. For dinner, we will hop to different restaurants to try. Food was not cheap. For 2 persons, do expect to spend at least USD60.

Here are some activities which are worth a try:

- Snorkeling: Able to see marine creatures at a close view. If you do not know how to swim, do grab a life jacket and start to snorkel. The water level is very shallow as it is reef area.

- Submarine ride: This is for those who does not know how to dive but wants to take a look at the marine creatures below. Great ride I must say!

- Stingray watching: We took a free ferry ride to Banyan Tree resort for stingray watching. No regrets.

Another must-try activity is sunset watching. You can laze around on the beach or enjoy your dinner while watching the sun sets. A truly tranquil watch.

As this is a relaxing trip, I also took some time off to continue working only sideline while on the beach. Success is never enough, we just got to work even harder anytime and anywhere. Sometimes, I do wonder whether is it worth it to put in so much hard work not knowing what can be achieved. However, now I do :).

I will never forget how beautiful Maldives is. I will definitely return to explore other islands.
